L'Oreal Paris Ombré Kit Review (2/5)

First of all, I know, I know what you’re all thinking; you’re a bit late with the whole ombré fashion. I realize I’m about two years late but I don’t care. I’m not the most adventurous person when it comes to my hair so it’s taken me a while to go for it.

Going to the hair dressers wasn’t even an option as I’m trying to save as much money as I can our trip to America so I looked at about a hundred reviews online from different products and in the end I decided to go for the L’Oreal Paris Wild Ombrés Kit as it was only 6.99 at Boots. I got the 060 shade which is for medium to dark brown hair. (I apologize for the bad quality photos, I’ve taken them with my phone!).

Right, so I read a lot of reviews and most of them were good. There were some people with thick dark brown hair saying it was perfect and a good buy and all that so I thought it’d be great for me as my hair’s really thin and normally it catches the colour quite well.

I started by reading the instructions carefully and watching YouTube video tutorials. I followed the instructions 100% but I must say I did not get the desired look.

While dying my hair I notice the really strong smell, it made my eyes cry!

After washing and blow-drying my hair I could barely see any difference except a couple of bits of my hair which looked quite orange and in a straight line because of the brush that you’re given with the kit. It looked patchy and just wrong.

I decided not to panic and seeing that I still had plenty left in the bottle I decided to re-apply it, this time with my hands instead of the brush to get a more uneven look. I left it for another 45 minutes and washed it again.

This time it turned out a little bit better. Still not the colour that says that you’ll get in the box photos but so much better than the first time. I don’t recommend dying your hair twice on the same day but I’m just ridiculously impatient and I couldn’t wait a few days to finish it.

I ended up having quite a mixture of colours from red to orange to ashy blonde. To be honest, I don’t completely dislike it but it’s definitely not what it says in the box. Would I recommend it? From now personal opinion, no, I wouldn’t. But like I said, I read loads of reviews of people whom for them it has worked perfectly so if you really want it, give it a try!

I might get another Kit in a couple of weeks and see if it works better now it’s a little bit lighter.

(here's styled and with some make up on, sooo much better!)

Have you ever tried this Ombré Kit? Did it work for you? What do you think of the final result?

Adiós amigas!

My Birthday Wish List

With my birthday just a week away I thought it was the perfect time to create a birthday wish list. That said; if you’re a close friend please ignore it. We’ve probably already talked about how much I need just plain tank tops and stuff to take to America and that’s all I need. Now if I wasn’t going on a very expensive holiday and if I didn’t need other (more important) things, this is what I would love.

River Island Purse – I am a big fan of RI purses. They have plenty of card storage which are good for all my discount cards and they last forever!

FiloFax – I’ve been a little bit obsessed with organizing lately and seeing as I’m moving into a new place with my boyfriend in about a month it’d be perfect to have one of these for the household organization.

Handbag – I’ve always liked the Native American style bags but I can’t ever seem to find the perfect one. The one in this picture is pretty close tho!

New Look Kimono – I absolutely love Kimonos but they seem to be something I can’t spend money on. I don’t know why it is, so it’d be great as a birthday present!

MAC Gift Card – We all know my obsession with lipsticks and make up.

Tablet – I know this is a long shot, but I’ve wanted a tablet for quite some time now and it’d be perfect to keep in touch while we’re in America.

About Time DVD – I loved this film when I watched it for the first time, I might even say it’s one of my favorite romantic comedies and it would look amazing on my new DVD shelf.

Flowers – What girl doesn’t like flowers on her birthday?!

So this is my birthday wish list. What would you like to have on your birthday?
Adios amigas!

MaxFactor Haul 3x2 + BarryM Foundation Brush

- Face Finity Primer £10.99
- Miracle Touch Foundation £12.99
- Color Corrector Stick £9.99 (Free)
- Lipfinity (gift)
- False Lash Effect (gift)
- BarryM Foundation Brush £5.99
- Avon Nail Polish £4.99

After using MAC for about a year now I decided it was time for me to find a different foundation a little bit more affordable for my daily make up and leave the MAC one for special occasions or for the weekends. That said, I don’t like spending money on things that aren’t good enough for me or my skin so I wasn’t happy with a very cheap skin-damaging foundation.

After looking around for what it seemed about an hour I decided to head over the Max Factor counter as they have a 3x2 offer at the moment. There was so much to chose from and to be honest, I didn’t really know which was would be best for me. I was looking for a full coverage base that would hide the redness on my skin but that it wouldn’t look too thick for a day look so after a few minutes trying to decide by myself I thought it’d be best to ask the counter’s MUA and it was the best thing I could’ve done!

She tried different foundations on my skin and we came up with a daily routine that is perfect for my skin. So here’s what I got:

- Face Finity Primer £10.99

First of all, the primer. I have been using a BB primer for a long time and it's about to run out so when she put that one on my face and I felt my skin I definately decided to give this one a go. Max Factor All Day Facefinity makes your foundation last longer and stay matte throughout the day. It does the job perfectly.

- Color Corrector Stick £9.99

Unfortunately I suffer from redness on my skin every now and then, especially on my cheeks. This stick is very easy to use and you can use it before or after the foundation. I personally like it before the foundation. It covers all redness and I'd dare to say even the few little spots that you may have. They have different colour bars, all of them for different results; redness, highlighter, dark spots, dark circles and dullness. I got the green one for redness.

- Miracle Touch Foundation £12.99

I must say I am very pleased with this foundation. It's exactly what I was looking for and considering that Max Factor is a bit of a higher end brand, £13 is a very good price for it. It comes with a sponge in a separate compartment but it's better to use a foundation brush I find and use the sponge just for when re-touching after a few hours. It has a very soft and creamy texture, almost like if you're not wearing anything!

- Lipfinity (gift) and False Lash Effect (gift)

You get a free gift when you buy the FF Primer and that's the new Lipfinity lipgloss and the mascara. I was surprised to get that as well as the 3x2 offer. I still haven't tried either of them but as far as I can read on other reviews, people seem quite happy with them. I'll make sure to review them after I've tried them a few times!

- BarryM Foundation Brush £5.99

I get a new brush every time I get a new foundation. Although my favorite brush will always be my Bobbie Brown Full Coverage Brush (here) I find that every now and then I have to set it aside for a few days after cleaning it. The BarryM foundation brush is a good alternative for a few days and it's price is also very good. I feel like I have to clean it after every use tho but it is quite easy to wash and it dries within a couple of hours.

So this is my week's Max Factor's Haul. Have you tried any of this products? What are your favorite primers and foundations for redness?

Adiós amigas! :)

SLIMMING WORLD - FIRST WEEK

So last week I told you all about my first Slimming World meeting, now I’m gonna tell you how I’ve done this week as I got weighted yesterday again.

As the week went by, I kept thinking ‘this is too easy; I must be doing something wrong’.  It genially seemed way too easy and it definitely did not feel like a diet at all so on my way to the meeting I was dreading going on the scales.
But, if you’d like to know how much I’ve lost…

DRUMROLL….

7lbs!!! I have somehow managed to lose half a stone on my first week!!! I ended up being ‘Slimmer of the week’ and I got my first award and sticker! I was well chuffed although I did not enjoy having to talk about it in front of the whole group as I’m not one to talk in front of people!

COACHELLA 2014 FASHION!

There are a couple of weekends a year where celebrities come out, play and party hard like the rest of us. Sure they’ve got VIP or backstage pass; they probably don’t have to pee in disgusting portable toilets and unlike the festivals I’ve been to, there surely won’t be a new poo outside their tent every morning.

Indigo, California turns into a celebrity hot spot when Coachella Festival arrives and this year was no less.

Now that the festival is finish we can sit down and judge the Coachella fashion! :)

Shay Mitchell - Does Shay ever looks bad!?

Alessandra Ambrosio - I absolutely love both looks but those cowboy boots OMG! I WANT THEM.

Vanessa Hudgens - I love all three looks, specially the skirt on the second photo. Simple and not over the top.

Rita Ora - What on earth is she wearing?! As much as you try to convince me, I'll never like the girl and I absolutely hate her fashion sense 90% of the time.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner - I absolutely love Kylie's cowboy rock chick look but what's with the feathers (on the right)! As much as I love Kendall's hair, what she's wearing looks something Morticia would wear to a funeral. Not cool for a festival!

Paris Hilton - What the hell Paris. It's a festival, not a beach.

Keisha - Ok Keisha, really pretty playsuit but what's going on with your hair!?

Hilary Duff - What am I gonna say about Hil? I love her and I always love what she wears and she hasn't dissapointed here. Very simple and fresh. Love it!

Selena Gomez - Oh no Selena! I love her but I really don't get what she's wearing. Take those curtains off and I'm sure your oufit will look awesome!

What do you think? In your opinion, what's the best and worst dressed?

Adiós Amigas!

MUA VELVET LIPSTICK!

Hello!

First of all, I apologize for not blogging much the past two weeks, I’ve been crazy busy! But I just found a couple of hours to relax, read some of your blogs and write a post of my own.

A couple of weeks ago I discovered the MUA’s Velvet lipstick. After looking at the amazing colours I decided to get one. It wasn’t the colour I originally wanted but unfortunately it was the only one left in store. I don’t regret getting it as it is amazing! I returned to the store pretty much every couple of days to see if they had the other colours available and so far, I mananged to get three out of the five shades they offer.

I must admit I’ve never been the biggest MUA’s fan. I find the regular lipsticks to fade within the hour and the nail vanish has chipped by the end of the day.

BUT, they’ve definitely done something right with these lipsticks. They’re almost permanent. I wore the Reckless shade for a night out and of course, me in my drunken state I went to bed without washing my face (I know, horrible right!?) and the next day my lips were still perfect! That definitely says something about a lipstick, doesn’t it?

The MUA Velvet’s Lipstick is only £3 and you can find them in any Superdrug stores or in the MUA Cosmetics website.

I highly recommend it, I don’t know if I can say they’re my favorite lipstick ever but it’s definitely won a high place in my list!

Have you tried the MUA Velvet collection yet?

Adiós amigas!

Lipstick Obsession 1 - Saffron Lipsticks

So I have had a tough week at work and when I have a crappy week I shop. Unfortunately with the new house and the trip to America I’m trying to save as much money as possible so instead of clothes or expensive make up I buy cheap lipsticks to keep myself happy.

My first buy of the week was on Monday. I was searching the internet not really looking for anything in particular and me being as skint as I am I decided to type ‘cheap lipsticks’ on Google. I eventually, after looking at about 10 different websites and none of them caught my attention, I found a website called Mix Match Make Up (here). At first I thought it looked poor and pretty much all the items look like they’re not the best quality but then again, that’s what you get when you type cheap lipsticks. So I gave it a go and had a look through their lips section and I came across this brand called Saffron. They have a whole range of 36 different colours and they’re only 95p. I then looked at the postage and package and it was something ridiculous like 30p so I decided to give it a go and buy two.

(07 Currant and 17 Watermelon)

To my surprise they arrived the day after I placed the order. The lipstick does look quite cheap and its pure thin plastic but you can’t expect much more when you’re only spending 95p.

The first thing I noticed was the smell of it, they smell so yummy! Then I tried them on. Yes, ok, they’re not the greatest of lipsticks but for less than £1 it really does the job. I wouldn’t wear it on a night out or if I’m going for food, but I’d definitely wear it to go shopping or for a walk in the park. It lasted about 5 hours which I think it’s great for such a cheap lipstick. Would I buy more Saffron Lipsticks? Probably if they maintain the same prices. Are they good lipsticks? Like I said, they’re not great but again for this price they are well worth it. I think they’re better than other popular cheap lipsticks such as £1 MUA.

(n17 - Watermelon)

I will be posting about the other three I bought soon :)

Have you ever used Saffron Lipstick or any Saffron make up? Whats your favorite ridiculously cheap brand?
